Since I have always been a \u201ccrafty\u201d sort of person, I was not satisfied with just doing my photography, and decided that I wanted to get into natural body care products. This is where I found my niche. Making natural soaps, lotions and more, I found that my skin responded so well to the healthy things I was now using on it. While researching and learning about what is good for your skin, I discovered that most of the commercial products are not made using beneficial oils and butters, but chemical detergents! Detergents that strip your skin of its natural protecting oils, detergents that dry your skin. In commercial lotions, I found that the main ingredients such as \u201cpropylene glycol\u201d which is commonly found in anti-freeze and brake fluid!* and \u201cParaffinum Liquidum\u201d which basically is a wax, and so many other \u201cingredients\u201d that I could not even pronounce, but when researched, very little were natural emollients. That’s when I began to make my own.<\/div>

Do You Know What You Are Putting On Your Skin?<\/b><\/div>

For most of my life, I would try lotion after lotion after lotion. You see, I have extremely dry & sensitive skin, so finding something that would keep my skin from from flaking so much, and not give me a rash was no easy task. After a long time, I did find one that my skin did not have an allergic reaction to, but it never seemed to keep my skin as flake free as I would have liked it to. I put up with it for a long time, and then decided to do a little learning, and hence my journey into natural body care. So tell me, do you know what you are putting on your skin? I never really realized it myself, so don\u2019t feel so bad.\u00a0<\/p>

Here is a list, exactly as its listed on the label of a well known brand, which I will not name. <\/b>
Acqua (Water), Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Paraffinum Liquidum, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Acrylates Copolymer, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Propylene Glycol, Petrolatum, Stearate SE, Propylene Glycol, Petrolatum, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Triethanolamine, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Phenoxyethanol, Methylisothiazolinone, Chlorphenesin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Fragrance (Parfum), Potassium Sorbate, Allantoin\u00a0<\/p>

And here is what you will find in my JBB Naturals Thick & Rich Body Cream.<\/b>
Distilled Water, Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice), Emulsifying Wax NF, Stearic Acid, Safflower Oil (Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit), Sal Butter (Shorea Robusta Seed Oil), Jojoba Oil, (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil), Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis), Avocado Oil (Persea Gratissima), Sunflower Oil (Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil), Vitamin E Oil (Tocopherol), Pro Vitamin B5 (DL-Panthenol), Fragrance, Optiphen (Phenoxyethanol & Caprylyl glycol) or Germell Plus (Propylene Glycol (and) Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate). For FDA reasons, I have to include the INCI (names in parentheses) name of everything I include in my products.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>

Can you see the difference?<\/b> Even though the \u201cFamous Name Brand\u201d does indeed include \u201csome\u201d natural oils and\/or butters, do you see how far down in their list it is before its included? The oils & butters that I include in my JBB Natural Thick & Rich Body Cream naturally nourish your skin. The only non-natural things you will find in my body cream is\u00a0is Optiphen or Germell Plus which are non paraben preservatives.\u00a0<\/span>It is a must to have some kind of a preservative in any product where water has been included. If you don\u2019t, you can wind up with some real nastys growing in there. I have chosen a non-paraben preservative because, even though the FDA has said that parabens are safe, there is too much controversy going on, and I decided to stay on the side of caution. The only other non-natural thing you may find in my cream is a fragrance. I sometimes use Essential Oils (natural) to scent my cream, but sometimes, I do use a Fragrance Oil, which, can be made using both natural and man made scents. Personally, if I cannot pronounce it, I don\u2019t want it on my skin.
